Commissions
Since appearing on Lego Masters Australia, interest in some of the other things I can build has increased. It's true - I'm more than just a train guy! Recently I completed a large figure for a birthday present. I was tasked with the challenge of making it look as much like him as possible, which I believe I achieved! I've also produced other bits and pieces for people from decorative mosaics to large buildings and themed builds, such as LEGO Batman.
All commissions are based around parts costs and the hours required to design and assemble your build and as such are quoted individually. If you've got a project in mind that you think I could help you with, feel free to drop us a line on our Contact page.

LEGO MASTERS
Wow, what a ride! To be selected from the thousands of applicants is one thing, but to make it to the finale with my fantastic partner Gabby was just amazing! Sadly, I can't post the photos of our builds here, but I can post a link here. What's more, you can see our finale build and a review from host Hamish Blake and judge Ryan 'Brickman' McNaught here too.
Our journey has been well documented in the show and on other websites, but here's a few fun facts that may not be as well known!
1) Gabby and I are the only team who built in every episode of season 3. Due to being eliminated in episode 7, but then coming back in the very next episode as part of the mid-season twist, we were able to take part in one build the other remaining contestants did not. Add to that the fact we never won immunity, we managed to be a part of every build, and every episode.
2) In addition to that, we've clocked up the most hours globally of any contestant in any series of Lego Masters. 14 episodes, 17 builds and a total of 186.5 competition hours. I wonder how long we'll hold that record for?
3) We actually managed to get 4 wins in before getting to the finale, which was one more than Scott and Owen (who came second). That said, they had won immunity 3 times which meant they missed 4 challenges and therefore 4 additional opportunities to win a challenge, so not so much a fun fact as a curious observation!
4) Gabby and I met over Zoom about 6 weeks before recording started. Thankfully, we built a rapport quickly and the little challenges we set each other based around where we felt our 'gaps' in experience were really helped us in our journey. So much so that two of the ideas we used were actually based around this planning we did.
5) My wife was heavily pregnant during the latter stages of the show and gave birth to our son less than a month after filming wrapped. Given that his sister arrived 6 weeks early, it's fair to say that his imminent arrival was an additional stress on top of the already rather intense environment!
Lego Masters was an absolute blast. It was unbelievably challenging, stressful, intense, insane and difficult, but it was also rewarding, exciting, educational and inspiring. To have walked away with a podium finish is more than Gabby and I could have ever hoped for, but we are so pleased we were able to experience every challenge and really develop and share the whole Lego Masters journey with each other and the world!

Youtube - How Did you Build THAT?
Okay - so I've FINALLY committed to putting together some YouTube content. I've decided to call the channel, "How did you build THAT?" as it's been one of the most popular and relevant questions I've been asked both in relation to the builds we did on the show, but also around our trains and the layout.
There's a technique review and general commentary on the amazing Titanic build, but the focus is definitely on the clever techniques and mechanisms we used in our builds on the show as well as some of the technical mastery season 4's contestants built into their creations. There's a little in there about my status as LEGO Education Brand Ambassador and soon to also have some tutorials on HOW things work and how YOU can integrate them into your builds.
Make sure you like and subscribe as I'll be adding content fairly regularly!

LEGO Education Brand Ambassador
At the end of 2021, I entered a competition with one of our education suppliers, Modern Teaching Aids. In order to be a contender, one had to be a working teacher and prepare a unit of work using the brand new Spike Essential system alongside the equally new BricQ Motion Essential. This was no easy task - particularly at assessment and report writing time - but I was fortunate enough to make it firstly as a finalist, and then as a joint winner. Alongside winning approximately $5000 worth of Spike and BricQ Motion products for my school, it also gave myself and my fellow winner Allen Dickson the coveted title of LEGO Education Brand Ambassador. Now, I'd argue we've both been brand ambassadors for a number of years, but it's just amazing to actually have this title.
We're both very excited to speak at the EduTech conference in August 2022 on behalf of LEGO Education as well as many other opportunities throughout the year.
